To Our Cashmere Company Community,
We'd like to say thank you for your ongoing support of small NZ businesses like ours during this time of uncertainty and isolation. Our commitment to our community and the health of our team is our top priority right now.
Our online store is open for your to browse and place orders but we will not be dispatching any orders until our lockdown is lifted. We are available to you via email firstname.lastname@example.org to help with any queries and questions.
We are continuing to work from home on new designs and we have some big announcements on the way so make sure you are connected with us on social and on our mailing list. While it may seem a little strange to be trading during this time, we will do so to ensure the ongoing success of our company.
Dispatch of online orders will happen asap after the lockdown has been lifted. We offer free standard delivery to New Zealand and simple returns on all online purchases and will accept returns for exchanges/refunds two weeks from our post lockdown re-opening date.
Please get in touch, we’d be delighted to help email@example.com.
Again, thank you so much for your ongoing support.
Be kind, take care and look after each other.Esme and Alannah x
Update 12th May 2020: Our New Normal
As we embrace our 'New Normal' together, there are a few changes to our Cashmere Co that we need to tell you about. The most important is that we no longer have our store in Queen Street, so we have launched this beautiful new website where you can still purchase all your favourite items. We have been feeling the impact of Covid19 since it was first mentioned in January and these last four months have been relentless for us, as for many small businesses. Sadly our landlords did not come to the table soon enough and the monthly costs were simply too much for us to absorb without any income. So, it is with a heavy heart we have closed our doors on Queen Street but, we are still online for all your cosy cashmere requirements.
But, there are a few silver linings to our New Normal for you. The first is that we no longer have such high overheads so we have been able to adjust our prices to save you money. We can now offer everything we had in-store online and we have streamlined our dispatch to be speedy and efficient. Also, our returns policy has been adjusted to 30 days refund for full price items or store credit for sale purchases. So your favourite Cashmere clothing is still available, but for the time being we are online only.
You will notice we have changed our brand name to Waiheke Cashmere - this is something else we have been working hard on behind the scenes. In April 2019 we began the huge task of setting up a Cashmere Knitwear Manufacturing Factory at our home on Waiheke Island. Esme and myself spent months and months learning knitwear construction and programming and, in September 2019 we went to Japan to learn even more at Shima Seiki - the world leaders of modern 3D knitting manufacturing. Since then we have leased a building on the seafront on Waiheke Island (right by the ferry at Matiatia) and created our Transparent Factory. Very soon you will be able to visit us here to see how we make your knitwear, shop at our retail store and enjoy coffee and cake in our cafe.
In January we hired Gordon, a Scottish Knitwear Technician Magician who has been creating knitwear all his life - in-fact his Mum worked at Johnstons of Elgin so knitting is in his blood. With our knowledge of natural fibres, the experience of selling the highest quality knitwear from Queen Street and now with Gordons years and years of experience, we are proudly producing world class knitwear from our little island in the Hauraki Gulf.
Over the next few months we will update our customers with photos and videos on social media as we continue to renovate our building and innovate from inside our Factory. We hope in a few months we can invite every Cashmere Co customer to a grand opening, but we will have to wait for Covid19 to be over before we can do that. In the mean time you can enjoy watching us grow and if you do find yourself on the island please pop in to see us - we are at 10 oceanview road, Matiatia in the old Harbour Masters building.
Finally, a huge thank you for all your support over the last 8 years, we could not have got to where we are today without our wonderful customers, and we will take what you loved most into our new business to create luxurious knitwear that you can cherish for years to come.
While closing our Queen Street doors has been hard, we are excited to see what the future holds and hope you will stay with us for the journey.
Alannah and Esme x
